Purple Jade (Drepanostachyum khasianum)
A stunning garden specimen with delicate arching poles and long, dark green, glossy leaves. Culms/poles feature striking white and purple rings around the internodes, and covered with a white bloom when young. Ideal smaller garden feature or screen, or as an elegant pot plant (outdoors in semi shade).
Other common name is Khasia Bamboo.
NOTE: BAMBOO FLOWERS AND SEEDS EVERY 100 OR SO YEARS... and that's what's happening with Purple Jade at the moment - across the entire southern hemisphere. So although we have stock, we're waiting to see when the species stop flowering/seeding. If you'd like to know more please get in touch with us.
