Gigantochloa albociliata

This beautifully decorative bamboo has densely placed erect grey/green slightly rough culms with white stripes forming a tight leafless clump under the higher pendulous vertically hanging foliage. Large slightly rough leaves and a delicious edible lightly striped young shoot initially covered in tawny hairs. The solid (little or no hole) culms are used extensively in light construction and furniture (ideal for heating and bending).
